Where Cars and Friends Come Together

Well, this morning started out a lot like most Saturdays, although we've reached that time of year when it's still dark outside as I'm backing the C10 out of the shop.

After stopping to top off the tank, I met a couple of friends at the Huddle House in Greenbrier, Arkansas, for breakfast before we headed north toward Almond.

If you're not familiar with Almond, it's located along Highway 25 North, between Concord and Locust Grove. It's a nice drive from the house and one I've enjoyed making several times over the years.

Sparky's Garage Show & Swap is another one of those shows I've tried to make it to each year. You may have even seen an article I wrote about it a while back or some of my previous Facebook posts.

The show is hosted by the Sparks brothers, who hold the event right on their property. They bring in a food truck and have a few sponsors who help with the awards. When the sponsors are able to attend, they even get to pick the award winners.

It's just a good, laid-back place to hang out, look at some cars and trucks, and spend time visiting with folks.

And if you know me, you know I love hanging out with friends and looking at old cars!

This year, they had somewhere in the neighborhood of 75 cars and trucks, with a little bit of everything on the show field. There were even two Avantis! I don't think I've ever seen two of those at the same show before.

They usually try to host this event twice a year, once in the spring and again in the fall. If you're ever looking for a good, laid-back car show where you can enjoy some great rides and visit with good people, this is definitely one worth checking out!

A huge shoutout to Dloyd and Richard Sparks for hosting us again this year. You guys do an awesome job putting this show together, and I always enjoy getting the chance to visit with y'all!

Sometimes the best car shows aren't about how big they are or how many trophies are handed out. They're simply about good cars, good friends, and enjoying the day. And that's exactly what you'll find at Sparky's!
