This past weekend, we rolled up to Jonesboro, Arkansas for an NSRA Appreciation/Safety Day — and like always, these events are a great time.

This particular day was hosted by Arkansas State Safety Inspector Carol Barnhill and Arkansas State Rep Kay Staggs, and it was nothing short of awesome. Appreciation Days are free events for NSRA participants — no entry fee, no competition — just a laid-back chance to hang out, visit, and enjoy some good fellowship with fellow car folks.

Depending on the host, these gatherings might include everything from donuts and coffee to hot dogs and chips, and the venues can vary just as much. This one was hosted right at the Barnhill's home, which offered the perfect relaxed setting. A shady backyard, plenty of space, and a welcoming vibe made it feel more like a family reunion than a car event.

As part of the NSRA Safety Team, I helped out with vehicle inspections during the event, and we ended up performing 11 full safety checks. The Arkansas Safety Team continues to do an incredible job — they’re thorough, professional, and truly dedicated to keeping our hobby safe and fun.

And if someone from the Safety Team ever asks if you'd like your car inspected — say yes. Like I always say, it's not about pointing out flaws. It's about offering a second set of eyes that might catch something you overlooked. It’s voluntary, it’s free, and it just might save you a bigger headache later.

A big thanks to Roger and Carol for opening their home to us. The day was smooth, the weather was good, and the ride there and back made it all even better.

Until next time...
Keep Kruzn!
