Well, I guess I was having a case of cabin fever the past couple of weekends. So it was time to get out of the house and cruise some Arkansas backroads!

First, on February 1, it was a trip with the C10 Club Arkansas down to Hot Springs, AR for lunch at Red Oak Fillin' Station. We started out the trip with 12 trucks and headed down Highway 5 out of Benton, AR.

Taking the back roads is always a favorite of mine. Not having to worry about all the other traffic and running 70+ mph. It's also fun when all the vehicles in your group are together and you can watch them go around the curves and over the hills all together. I prefer to run in the middle of the pack.

We made through Hot Springs and headed for the Red Oak Fillin' Station for lunch. I had never been to this place, but the food was great. Sorry no pictures. I had the Brisket Grilled Cheese sandwich and Fries, and it was very good. Highly recommend.

From here, headed up Hwy 70 a bit and hit Hwy 128 back over to Hwy 5 to get to Hwy 9. This took over to Perryville where we caught Hwy 60 back into Conway.

Was an awesome day to drive the C10 and hang out with some great people, some of who I had not met. Ready for the next one.

The following weekend, I guess I just needed to get out again, but this time, by myself. I got in the truck and headed out, not really knowing where I would go. I started out on Hwy 64 to Hwy 36 and headed towards Enola, AR. I had never been on this part Hwy 107 and 310.

Made a quick stop in Enola for pics of the truck at a couple of spots.

From there, headed on down Hwy 310 into Mt Vernon, AR and hit Hwy 36 again up to Rosebud, AR and made the turn on Hwy 5 towards Heber Springs. This is part of my usual shakedown route.

Stopped off at the JFK Overlook above the Greers Ferry Dam for a couple more pics...

After leaving the overlook, I headed through downtown Heber Springs and made a stop at a building I have visited a few times. A friend of mine (not the current owner/business) used to run a hot rod shop out of this building before moving back to his hometown. Still make a decent backdrop!

From Heber Springs, I made my way back out to Hwy 25 and headed south towards home. Went through Quitman, Guy, and into Greenbrier on Hwy 65. In Greenbrier, made the turn back onto Hwy 25 through Wooster and eventually into Conway to head home.

Made for another enjoyable 100+ miles. As you may know, I just bought this truck in October of 2024. I have put about 1200 miles on it since then and I am in love with driving the truck.

That's about it until the next adventure... Hope you can get your hot rod out on the road and put some miles on them!
