What a day… I hit the road early again, this time heading north to Mountain View, AR for C10s In The Mountains. The weather was hot, but some clouds and a steady breeze made it a pretty great day overall.
This was my first time at this show — continuing my goal of checking out events I haven’t been to before — and let me tell you, the turnout was incredible. I’d heard the show had been growing since it started four years ago, but the crowd today blew me away. The last number I heard was north of 325 trucks, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it got close to 400. They were parked everywhere, and just about every flavor of Chevy truck you could imagine was there.

Huge credit to the crew from C10 Club Arkansas — they did an awesome job putting this event together. From what I saw, everything was organized and ran smoothly.
This show benefits the Stone County Animal Shelter, and instead of a traditional registration fee, they ask for a donation of either cash or pet food. How cool is that? I don’t know the total raised, but I did spot a minivan completely packed with pet food. Didn’t know you could fit that much in one!

They also had a great group of sponsors — both local businesses and big names like LMC Truck, AMD, and Poppy’s Patina. One of the local banks even provided free hot dogs and hamburgers for all the participants. You can’t beat that.
The door prizes were solid too, with giveaways from AMD, Poppy’s Patina, and several others.
If you’ve never been to Mountain View, it’s a cool little town with a variety of events throughout the year, including some car and truck shows — and even a big motorcycle event later in the year.

Whether you own a Chevy truck or just love checking them out, make sure this one’s on your list for next year! Be sure to check out our Facebook page for more photos and video coverage — link’s at the top of the site.
One more great show in the books. Until next time… Keep Kruzn!
Update from the Organizers:
Final numbers are in — a whopping 432 trucks rolled into Mountain View, and the community came through in a big way. A truckload of pet food was collected, along with an incredible $7,156 donation to the Stone County Humane Society. Now that’s how you combine horsepower and heart!
