2013 Car Show Season

A new cruising and car show season is upon us.  StillKruzn has attended both of the calendar planning events in central Arkansas this year and the events calendar is now updated with all of those events.  I have added all of the NSRA events and some other this year.  If you don’t see your event listed here, get the information to me using the contact page and I’ll get it listed.  And it’s free…

Cruising season gets started for me this weekend as we head out to the NSRA Appreciation/Inspection Day hosted by the CAMS Car Club.  It is being held at Pulaski Tech in Little Rock, AR just off I30.  If you don’t have anything planned, come on out.

Hope to see everyone out cruising someplace this year…

October 27, 2012 – Fall Cruise 5

What a great day for a cruise.  It started out a little on the chilly side, but turned out to be a gorgeous day.  We started the day out in Conway, AR and pulled out heading west through Morillton, Russellville, and Clarksville.  After passing through Clarksville, we made a stop at Wiederkehr Winery.   The next stop was in Ozark for lunch.  The planned lunch was a BBQ joint in town, but they were pretty crowded so we split up some.

After lunch we headed through the Ozark National Forest to the historic Oark General Store.  If you haven’t had the chance to make it up to Oark General Store, you should make plans too… They have really good Pecan Pie!

After leaving the general store, we headed down AR 103 back into Clarksville and stopped to visit at the Clarksville Square.  From here everyone headed their own way.

Big thanks go out to Dickey and Mary Jane Shannon to putting this event together each year.  This is  our 3rd year to go on this cruise and don’t plan on missing any future cruises.

Also need to thank Devin Mathis for helping with setting up the GoPro camera on my Model A.  It provided some great video footage.

Iron Horse Coach Company

We stopped by the Hogs and Hot Rods show at the Harley Dealer the other day after our car show.  Walking around looking at some of the bikes and the cars, we come up on something very interesting.  A 19th century styled  hearse trailer coach drawn by a 2010 Harley Davidson Street Glide Trike.

Got to talking to the owner of for a bit, and he is licensed by the state of Arkansas as a transporter.  The coach has been used to transport several fallen soldiers to their final resting place among others.  Now, I don’t mean to sound morbid or anything, but this is really cool to me and something that makes someones last trip very memorable and personal.

Here are a few pics of the coach.

Here is a link to their website and Facebook page.  Check them out.

Now this has gotten me to thinking.  Wouldn’t it also be cool if they had an old hot rod to pull this coach also for some of hot rodder’s out there.  I know that I would be up for pulling it with my car if someone requested it.  Just a thought!

Virtual Car Show – Petit Jean Mtn Car Show and Shine

Here is the 3rd installment of the Virtual Car show.  We spent part of the day at the Petit Jean Mtn Car Show and Shine at the Musuem of Automobiles.  Enjoy!

Virtual Car Show – CAMS Car Club Sonic Cruise

Here is virtual car show #2. This was shot as the CAMS Sonic Cruise this past weekend. Please excuse the shakiness in the video, going to have to start using a tripod and possibly look into getting some kind of dolly to shoot from to make it better. Other than that, I think it turned out okay. Hope you enjoy it and be on the lookout for more…

How about a Flat Black/Shiny Black 54 Chevy…

Took a few pictures of a 54 Chevy truck in Cabot a few weeks ago.  This truck originally belonged to the owners father.  It’s not quite completed yet, but I like the contrast between the shiny and flat black…

Virtual Car Show

Here is something I hope to do more of and get a little better at it.  This is my first attempt at a virtual car show.  So, if you weren’t able to attend the Lost in the 50s Car Show in Cabot, AR on August 25, 2012, now you can from the comfort of your own home, or wherever you happen to be a the moment.

Like I said, this is my first attempt at video.  I shot the video, edited, and added the soundtracks.  So please be nice and when critiquing the video… Enjoy!

Don’t forget about the car show/cruise-in on Oct 13…. Look forward to seeing everyone out there!

StillKruzn.com Announcement – Car Show

Well, here it is.  Stillkruzn.com is going to be the host/sponsor of a car show in Conway, AR.  This is the first venture into this arena for us and we are looking forward to it.

The car show is going to be held on October 13, 2012 at the Conway Expo Center & Fairgrounds.  It is in conjunction with the Professional Towing and Recovery Association of Arkansas’ expo.  They will have all their normal stuff going on such as vendors, demonstrations and training.  This year they wanted to have a car show along with a wrecker show, big and small wreckers.

We have agreed to be the host/sponsor of the car show and will be judging the car show along with the wrecker show, which is being hosted/sponsored by PTRAA.

Since this is the first year, we are keeping things small.  There will be 2 wrecker classes, Large and Small.  Awards will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in both wrecker classes, along with an overall Best of Show.

The car show will have overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, along with an overall Best of Show.  I know what you are thinking, that isn’t very many awards to hand out, but like I said, we are keeping things small, and we want this to be more about coming out and showing off your vehicle and just having fun.

Now, I know you are asking yourself, what can I do to help?  Well, I have two answers for that.  1) You can come out, bring your car and have a good time with everyone there.  2) Get the word out.  We only have a couple of months on this to get the word out.  Everyone can help in that way.  You can either send them to the website (www.stillkruzn.com) for information, or our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/StillKruzn).

A flyer with all the information will be up in the next day or so.

I think that is about it for now, but stay tuned as there will be more information coming in the very near future!

CAMS Cruise Night – Sonic in Maumelle

Great evening at the Sonic in Maumelle with the CAMS Car Club.  They did a great job hosting the cruise night.  This one was the first of I hope many to come.  I have asked them to let me know their plans, so that we can make sure it gets on the calendar here and that everyone knows about it.  If you weren’t there, you missed a good time, looking forward to more from CAMS on this cruise night.
